THE STORY

In 1978, chef Jimmy Chung immigrated from Taiwan to the United States and found himself working as a chef in a small Chinese restaurant in the big city of New York. Coincidentally, a sweet charming lady named Melissa immigrated from Taiwan to the United States and she also found herself working in the same restaurant as a waitress. Soon after they met, they married and moved to Colorado where they shared their dream of opening up their very own restaurant.

In 1993, United Chinese Restaurant became a family owned restaurant which first originated in Westminster, Colorado. With the charming personality of Melissa and 37 years of cooking experience with Chef Jimmy, they continue to maintain the quality of their food and the experience of their customers for over 22 years at their current location in Thornton.

Note: As of July 2015, their former restaurant located in Broomfield has been sold and is under new management. The Broomfield location is currently unaffiliated with United Chinese Restaurant N’ Sushi in Thornton, which is still currently owned by Melissa and Jimmy as they continue to serve and contribute to the local community with their delicious food and friendly hospitality. 

United Chinese Restaurant serves only the freshest and highest quality ingredients and we strive in customer service and hospitality. Starting with Chinese cuisine, we have expanded our menu to give our customers more variety and choices. We have a full sushi bar at the Thornton location that offers fresh sushi that is made to order with our very own personal sushi chef.

We want to say thank you to all of our amazing customers that has supported United Chinese through all these years. Without each and every one of our customers, we would not be where we are today.
